Pains of Youth by Ferdinand Bruckner (adapted by Daphne Moore)
17 November, 7.30pm, Post Show Q&A
20 November, 7.30pm Captioned Performance
In a Vienna boarding house after the First World War, a group of young medical students wrestle with love, lust, and looming despair. Their ambitions clash with their fears, and pleasure collides with self-destruction, as they search for meaning in a world that feels fractured beyond repair.
Ferdinand Bruckner’s Pains of Youth, in a sharp adaptation by Daphne Moore, is a haunting portrait of a restless generation. At once intimate and unsettling, the play lays bare the volatile mix of desire, power, and hopelessness that drives youth toward both passion and ruin.
