This production is adapted for the stage by R. D. Macdonald.
Mirandolina, or The Mistress at the Inn, sees our rich, single heroine being pursued by all kinds of suitors – an aristocrat, a servant and a Count among others. Witty innkeeper Mirandolina is not interested but when a misogynist who has sworn off women walks into her establishment, she decides to prove him wrong.
Depicting eighteenth-century Venetian society, Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy is a fast-paced story of class struggle and revenge.
