Nominations have been announced for this year's Tony Awards, which celebrate excellence in theatre on Broadway.

Graduate Bertie Carvel has been nominated for Best Featured Actor in a Play for playing Rupert Murdoch in James Graham's Ink, a role that won him an Olivier Award in 2018. It is his second Tony nomination, having previously been nominated in 2013 for his role as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda - The Musical.

Also nominated is Janet McTeer, who is up for Leading Actress in a Play for Bernhardt/Hamlet, her third Tony nomination in this category.

Some award recipients have also been announced. Graduate Rosemary Harris will receive a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theater, one of three recipients of the award this year. Rosemary trained at RADA in the 1950s and throughout her career has been nominated for nine Tony Awards, three Olivier Awards and six Drama Desk Awards (winning four of these).

You can find the full list of nominees here. The Tony Awards 2019 will take place on Monday 10 June 2019 in New York. Congratulations to all our graduates!
