Nominations for the 2026 Golden Globe Awards were announced this week. You can see the full list here.

RADA Vice-President Cynthia Erivo has been nominated for Best Female Actor in a Film – Musical or Comedy for her “superstar” return to the role of Elphaba in Wicked: For Good. Cynthia was nominated in the same category at last year’s awards for her critically acclaimed performance in Wicked.

Jessie Buckley has been nominated for the Best Female Actor in a Film – Drama for her “nothing short of a wonder” performance as Agnes in Chloé Zhao’s adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet. Short Courses alumna Tessa Thompson has also been nominated in this category for her “sensual” turn as the titular character in Hedda.

Matthew Rhys has been nominated for Best Male Actor in Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Film for his “astonishing” performance as the elusive Nile in The Beast in Me.

Aimee Lou Wood has been nominated for Best Supporting Female Actor on Television for her “magnetic” performance as Chelsea in season three of The White Lotus. Aimee was nominated for an Emmy for this role earlier this year.

The Golden Globes will air on 11 January 2026. Congratulations to all the nominees.
