Judith Blake is a Labour politician serving as a life peer in the House of Lords since 2021. She serves on the opposition front bench as a Shadow Spokesperson for Energy and Net Zero and Business. Blake served as the leader of Leeds City Council from 2015 to 2021, becoming the first woman to hold the position. Her portfolio as leader covered the economy and culture. As deputy leader she was the Executive Cabinet Member for Children & Families, overseeing the transition of Children's Services from inadequate to outstanding. She is a member of the board of Northern Ballet, a trustee of the Leeds International Piano Competition and Patron of Leeds 2023.
