Timothy Bird is a video and production designer who specialises in the weaving of video into traditional theatrical storytelling. He escaped from a first career in television (with the BBC and other usual suspects) into the world of live shows of all shapes and sizes.

For over 10 years he was Executive Creative Director of Knifedge – a ground-breaking agency dedicated to combining art and technology.

Originally trained as a graphic designer and animator at Kingston University, in theatre circles Timothy is often best known for his ground-breaking collaboration with director Sam Buntrock, and set and costume designer David Farley on the Menier Chocolate Factory’s Sunday in the Park with George. Timothy and David jointly received the Critics’ Circle Design Award, Evening Standard Theatre Design Award and Olivier Award for Best Design. In New York, they garnered the Outer Critics’ Circle Design Award, the Drama Desk Award and the Tony Nomination for Best Design of a Musical.
