RADA partners with NIDA and Australia House on panel featuring Cate Blanchett, Kip Williams, Suzie Miller and David Harewood
On Friday 10 April, we were delighted to partner with National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and the Australian High Commission, United Kingdom for an evening celebrating collaboration and global storytelling.
The evening featured a panel with NIDA graduates Cate Blanchett, Kip Williams and Suzie Miller in a discussion moderated by RADA graduate and President David Harewood. They discussed how world-leading dramatic arts training can open up international careers, the importance of stories, the impact of Australia in UK theatre, as well as opportunities for the future.
Ahead of the panel our recent acting graduates performed an excerpt from Australian Writers' Guild award-winning playwright Vanessa Bates. The Magic Hour is a retelling of fairy tales from the perspectives of marginalised characters set in contemporary Australia.
Thank you to The Honourable Jay Weatherill AO, Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, as well as the teams at Australia House and NIDA for a wonderful and insightful event.
