We are delighted that the Office for Students has announced that RADA has been awarded world-leading status and funding for our teaching and education activities.

We are extremely grateful for this critical funding which allows RADA to maintain our current specialist theatre production and actor training and to make vital investments in the development of current courses and postgraduate provision, working with partners to provide a talent pipeline to the UK’s £116bn creative industries. The drama training sector faces immense challenges and specialist funding is vital to sustaining the sector.

The funding recognises RADA’s ongoing reputation, nationally and internationally, for the quality of our specialist teaching, as well as the knowledge and skills of our graduates, and the enduring impact they have on the performing arts profession and the creative industries throughout the world.

RADA Principal, Niamh Dowling said:

"I am thrilled that the quality of the teaching at RADA is being recognised and funded in this way as it will allow us to deliver our world-leading training whilst developing and re-framing our courses for the future needs of our industry. The cost of RADA’s full-time vocational training is far more than we receive in student fees, and this funding will ensure we continue to play our part in the ecology of the UK’s creative industries with all the benefits we bring to our students, our industry, to the economy and to wider society."
