Congratulations to everyone nominated at the Olivier Awards 2023. Special congratulations to RADA graduate Arthur Darvill who won the award for Best actor in a musical for his performance in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! at the Young Vic.

We are delighted that numerous RADA graduates were nominated in the following categories:

  • Best actor in a supporting role - Nnabiko Ejimofor as part of the ensemble for For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy at Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at Royal Court Theatre.
  • Sir Peter Hall award for best director - Robert Hastie for Standing at the Sky’s Edge at National Theatre.
  • Best actress - Patsy Ferran for A Streetcar Named Desire at Almeida theatre and Janet McTeer for Phaedra at National Theatre.
  • Best actor - Tom Hollander for Patriots at Almeida theatre.

Alongside these nominations, our graduates and a current student worked on the following productions:

  • Andrea Scott, Video Designer for My Neighbour Totoro at Barbican theatre which has received nominations in 9 categories.
  • Daberechi Ukoha-Kalu, Programmer for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! at the Young Vic which has been nominated for best musical revival.
  • Jai Morjaria, Lighting Designer for My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?) at Garrick Theatre and Ambassadors Theatre which has been nominated for the Noël Coward award for best entertainment or comedy play.
  • Mark Rylance, Kemi Awoderu, Jack Riddiford and Greg Snowden in the cast of Jerusalem at Apollo theatre which has been nominated for best revival.
  • Ralph Davies was in the ensemble cast of A Streetcar Named Desire at Almeida theatre with nominations for categories including best revival.
  • Gillian Tan, Video Designer (Head of Video at RADA) for South Pacific at Sadler's Wells which has been nominated for best musical revival.
