RADA graduates Jessie Buckley and Wunmi Mosaku have received nominations for the 98th Academy Awards which were announced today, 22 January 2026. You can see the full list here

Jessie Buckley has been nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Agnes in in Chloé Zhao’s adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet. She won the Golden Globe and Critic’s Choice Best Actress awards for her performance as the wife of William Shakespeare, described as “nothing short of a wonder” by the Guardian.

Jessie Buckley graduated from RADA in 2013. She was nominated as a BAFTA Rising Star in 2019 and is known for her performances in Wild Rose, Women Talking, and Wicked Little Letters. She has previously been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for The Lost Daughter

Wunmi Mosaku has been nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as Hoodoo priestess Annie in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. This is Wunmi’s first Oscar nomination, for a critically acclaimed performance described as the film’s “emotional centre”. Sinners has been nominated for a record-breaking 16 Oscars.

Wunmi Mosaku graduated from RADA in 2007, and is known for her performances in Vera, Loki and Lovecraft Country. She won a TV BAFTA for her performance as Gloria in BBC drama Damilola, Our Loved Boy and was nominated for the Best Actress Film BAFTA in 2021 for His House

The Oscars ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on 15 March 2026. Congratulations to Jessie, Wunmi and all the nominees.
