Applications are open to join Cohort 2 of Theatre Royal Stratford East's Acting Course, run in partnership with RADA, Guildhall and Young & Talented.

The course is open to 17-24 year olds wanting to take their acting to the next level, and who are interested in future full-time drama training and/or professional work.

Participants will take part in a series of masterclasses led by Suzann McLean, founder and artistic director of Young & Talented, as well as guest tutors from RADA and Guildhall, and other theatre professionals from across the industry. As well as training in acting, voice, text, movement and audition technique, the course includes theatre visits, Q&As with actors, directors and practitioners, and practical resources such as headshots.

At the culmination of the course, participants perform in a showcase at RADA for an audience of professional directors and agents, as well as friends and family.

The partnership enables RADA to open up access to the Academy, giving young performers the chance to develop their techniques and learn more about the experience and possibilities of full-time drama training.

Participants from last year's cohort reflected on their experience, saying:

"It was refreshing to be in an environment where the people represent such a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. The best." - Adrian

"Drama school no longer feels like an intangible, intimidating thing but something that, with hard work, drive and talent, could be very achievable." - Yasmin

The 2018-19 cohort is looking for ambitious, curious actors with some acting experience who are eager to learn. If you think the course is for you, apply by downloading an application form and sending to Darnell Shakespeare at Theatre Royal Stratford East by Friday 21 September.
