Rachel Nicholson is a freelance Voice, Speech and Accent coach based in Edinburgh. Most recently Rachel has been teaching voice at Rose Bruford’s Edinburgh Foundation course in Acting and this past year has seen her as a Visiting Teacher and Coach for Manchester School of Theatre, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and Dundee and Angus College.

Before moving back to her native Scotland, Rachel was working in London teaching on several actor training programmes. These have included colleges such as LAMDA, Mountview, Rose Bruford and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Rachel trained in Voice was on the MA in Voice Studies at the Royal Central school of Speech and Drama. Some years later she was invited onto the National Theatre mentorship scheme for a year with Jeanette Nelson, Head of Voice.

Rachel's Accent coaching and theatre work includes companies such as A Mother’s Song at Macrobert Arts Centre 2023, Lubna Kerr for Tickbox at Edinburgh Fringe 2022, RCS as the Fringe 2022, RNCM, Peut-Être Theatre, Southwark Playhouse, London Bubble Theatre, BBC and HBO.
