Mark Oldfield was born in Sheffield and grew up in Suffolk. He played several instruments before developing his love of singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Opera School, Royal College of Music.

From his debut as Onegin with Scottish Opera, Mark's versatile lyric baritone has secured him an international career as a soloist in a broad repertoire of roles and concerts. His interest to explore both singing and acting led him to work in opera, music theatre and devised theatre pieces with an array of companies that included Opera Factory Zurich; Royal Opera; La Monnaie, Brussels; New Israeli Opera; Transparant Antwerp; Lontano at the Riverside Studios; and Opera Circus.

Education and community arts projects are now central to Mark’s practice. Besides working at RADA, Mark also teaches singing at Middlesex and Kingston Universities and is vocal coach for choirs, individuals and collaborative projects through his consultancy, vocalcraftwork.com.
