Deborah’s early training as an actor and singer reflects a multi-faceted approach to teaching speech, accent and dialect and both spoken and sung voice. She is a fellow of the HEA, has a music degree and an MA in Voice Studies from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and is a Designated Linklater teacher. She joined RCSSD’s faculty in 2014, working on the MA/MFA Voice Studies and BA Acting Collaborative and Devised Theatre programmes.
Deborah has presented workshops at numerous industry conferences in the UK and US with a particular focus on evolving accent coaching practices and the exploration of spoken into sung voice.
She also freelances as a voice and accent coach. Recent credits include Be More Chill at the Other Palace, POT at the Ovalhouse and Vanessa and Virginia at the Riverside Studios.
Deborah maintains a performance profile, often utilising her skills as a composer to explore spoken-sung approaches to theatre-making.
