Andrew Charity

Andrew studied at the Royal College of Music and the London Opera Centre, winning the Ricordi Prize for conducting. He is a freelance conductor/pianist and singing teacher/coach, and since 2009 has performed as a musical director for operas in venues all over England; he is also resident conductor of madrigal singing at RADA.
Andrew was the musical director for the award-winning OperaUpClose production of La Bohème, for Woodhouse Opera, and for Nonsuch History and Dance. He was musical director for New London Opera Players/Secret Opera (2011-2015), and is currently musical director for The Wedding Collective/Opera Machine (Finding Butterfly, The Consul), Time Zone Theatre (Orfeo ed Euridice, Mozart and Salieri) and Vocalissimo!
Andrew has also conducted a large choral repertoire – until 2013 with the Barnes Choir – and has composed and directed music for over 150 plays.
