Kursk by Bryony Lavery in collaboration with Sound&Fury
We are a Secret Weapon.
If the enemy discovers we are here,
The lives of millions are in danger.
A Royal Navy hunter-killer submarine is patrolling north to the Arctic. Unseen and unheard she shadows her target.
Confined and submerged, the crew work, sleep, eat and long for words from home. Their lives, at once extraordinary and mundane, are engulfed by disaster and stories of personal tragedy.
Bryony Lavery’s play in collaboration with Sound&Fury imagines the life of submariners deep below the icy waters on the fraying front line of the cold war.
