Beyond the Canon
Now in its fourth year, Beyond the Canon presents a series of monologues and audition speeches for black, south Asian and middle eastern actors.
In collaboration with RADA the showcase features RADA students and graduates directed by Artistic Directors of the Future members.
Monologues are taken from Simeilia Hodge-Dallaway’s anthologies of inspiring material for diverse actors published by Methuen Drama. Works include contemporary international writers such as Roy Williams, Katori Hall, Courttia Newland, Dalia Taha, Philip Ridley and many more.
There will be a panel discussion on the theme of 'Ages of Activism and its Change Makers', which will include: Juliet Gilkes Romero, founder of Beyond the Canon Ltd Simeilia Hodge-Dallaway, RADA graduate Nathaniel Martello-White, Suzann McLean, Anton Phillips and Daniel York Loh.
