Theatre production taster days
Theatre production taster days are a series of workshops running all day on Saturdays throughout September to July where you can explore two components of technical theatre. You can sample a mixture of wardrobe, lighting, scenic art, stage management, property making, construction and make-up.
The next taster day dates will be confirmed this summer; please check back here for more information.
The workshops run on Saturdays at RADA, from 10am-5pm. Please note it is not possible to sign up for a half day; you must sign up for the full day.
Workshops are led by RADA teaching staff and graduates.
The workshops cover the range of subjects taught at the Academy on the full-time Technical Theatre and Stage Management courses. Sessions are introductory and are designed to give people an insight into the world of theatre production. Topics range from stage management, lighting, make-up, construction, sound, scenic art, props and wardrobe.
The taster days are not a course, and each one will be different so you can book for as many as you wish according to your interest. All materials will be provided and you do not need to bring or prepare anything unless otherwise stated.
The cost of each theatre production taster day is £20 (unless otherwise stated).
If you are aged 16-20 and have an interest in design technology, craft, fine art, theatre management or just generally working backstage but aren't quite sure which bit - then these taster sessions give you the chance to explore. During the sessions, you will be introduced to two elements of technical training including scenic art, construction, make-up, lighting design and props making.
Places on each RADA workshop are limited to 10 people (in most cases), to avoid disappointment please make your booking early.
Please note: You will receive confirmation of your booking by email and the taster days are non-refundable.
