RADA Shakespeare Awards
Tanya is a professional actor and actor trainer. She trained as an actor at RADA, and is now one of the Academy’s Associate Teachers. She has also been a member of the RADA audition panel for their 3 year BA Acting Training since 2004.
Over nearly two decades as a professional actor, Tanya has worked with some of the great masters of theatre and film – Peter Brooke, John Barton, Peter Hall, Declan Donellan, Cisely Berry, and Peter Greenway; as well as with some of the world’s leading companies including The Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal National Theatre, The Royal Court Theatre and Les Bouffes Du Nord in Paris.
Whilst continuing to work as an actor, Tanya has built a reputation as a skilled workshop leader and meticulous teacher. This dual career has stood her in good stead as it enables her to pass knowledge on to her students about what is current in the industry. Tanya teaches and directs on RADA’s BA in Acting, as well as on a variety of the short courses. Her students have ranged from as young as 14 to adult professional actors and directors. She also frequently teaches on RADA’s Saturday Youth Acting Workshops, and has been employed by several other educational institutions including Gordonstoun and Hurtwood House schools, Clean Break Theatre Company and Identity Drama School to teach acting and audition technique, and acting Shakespeare.
Tanya was recently appointed the Vocational Training Preparation Course Leader for an exciting new alliance between RADA and Stagecoach.
