RADA Shakespeare Awards
Hugh Ross trained at RADA and has had a long and successful career as an actor and director. He has played many leading parts at the RSC, the National Theatre, and in the West End, including many great Shakespearean roles. These include Romeo, Hamlet, Macbeth, Polonius, and most recently Malvolio for Sheffield Crucible and English Touring Theatre.
With many television appearances, Hugh is best known as Major Mungo Munro in the Sharpe series; and on film for Bronson, Trainspotting, and Clive Barker's Nightbreed, which has very recently become an unexpected cult. He also works frequently on radio.
In 2013, he was nominated as best director for his production of Ronan Noone's The Atheist on the London fringe.
For 10 years, Hugh taught Shakespeare's Sonnets at the London Dramatic Academy, and is on the RADA audition panel.
