Drama on the Dance-Floor
Dates: 14 - 17 August 2017
Duration: four days
Hours of work: Monday to Thu 10am to 6pm
Please note there are no RADA scholarships available for short courses.
Costume drama meets Strictly Come Dancing in a fun course for those who just love to dance! How dramatic could your dance be? How slick can you make your moves? And how do you travel between different partners, distinct periods of history, and diverse dramatic situations? Dance your way from THE JANE AUSTEN ERA to THE ROARING 20s; and through DISCO MANIA to STREETWISE.
The course is taught by RADA teacher and choreographer Darren Royston, author of Dramatic Dance: An Actor's Approach to Dance as a Dramatic Art, and Dancing Master on BBC4's Dancing Cheek To Cheek. Darren is a historical dance consultant at the National Theatre and Old Vic, and the feature film Queen of the Desert with Nicole Kidman. He will be joined by Jenny Patrone, musical theatre performer and dance teacher.
Students below the age of 16 are not normally accepted. Entrance is by written application. There is no upper age limit.
