The TEF was introduced by the government to build evidence about the performance of the UK’s world-class higher education sector. Out of 295 providers entered for the TEF, 59 institutions have been awarded Gold, which denotes high levels of excellence in teaching quality, learning environment and educational and professional outcomes. The awards were decided by an independent panel of academics, students and employer representatives.
RADA is a founding affiliate of the CDD, a higher education institution that comprises eight schools offering conservatoire training in drama, technical theatre, stage management, dance and circus arts. Last year CDD was officially designated "world-leading" in a HEFCE review of specialist institutions.
