Steve Mayo has worked as a sound engineer for the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), Young Vic, Old Vic, People Show and Royal Court, amongst others. He has also toured nationally and internationally with the RSC.
Before joining RADA, Steve was Head of Sound for the Barbican, responsible for facilitating sound requirements for theatre companies including Complicite, National Theatre of Scotland, Laurie Anderson, Toneelgroep and many others.
As a sound designer and composer, Steve has worked on over fifty productions and still works in the industry in a freelance capacity as he believes it’s a vital part of teaching the next generation of sound designers and engineers.
Steve was recently associate sound designer on This House, a Headlong/ Chichester/National Theatre co-production, and sound designer for a UK tour and West End run of The Wipers Times (September to December 2018).
