After training at the Drama Centre, Annie worked as an actor in regional and London theatre, TV and radio. Recent acting roles include work at the Octagon Theatre, Bolton, the RADA Festival and the short film Prison Boy.
At Drama Centre she was Course Director of the BA (Hons) Acting course 2002-10. Her public productions there included All’s Well That Ends Well, Wild Oats, Mary Stuart, A Laughing Matter, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Richard III and Mother Courage.
Annie works at RADA as an acting tutor and director, including directing Love for Love and Strange Orchestra in the Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre. She was a practitioner for the RSC’s Open Stages Dream 16 – A Play for the Nation project. She has also given Restoration comedy masterclasses at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, where she directed The Rivals in 2012.
Annie is a patron of The Mono Box and regularly leads classical and contemporary audition workshops there.
