When The Shoe String’s Break is a historical play following enslaved Africans living in London, during the Trans-Atlantic slave Trade.

It is a play in three parts, following the Africans through Slavery, Apprenticeships, and Freedom; and is pieced together with Brechtian direct address and spoken word poetry.
