This one-man play explores how the loss of employment can alter one’s perception of their own identity.
We follow Darryl Evans, a disillusioned former employee of a Steel Manufacturing Company, as he seeks to escape his misery through reigniting a childhood infatuation with Dolly Parton.
Through cross-dressing he begins to question his gender-identity, comforted by appearing to imitate the identity of another.
Compromising his long-held prejudices, he escapes the constraints of his masculinity, discovering happiness and comfort in ways he had never considered before.
