Much Ado About Nothing and Arabian Nights
Graduate Double Bill
Directed by Nona Shepphard
A one hour adaption of Much Ado About Nothing. The war of the sexes between Beatrice and Benedick who’s hate/love of marriage and each other contrasts with the pure and romantic young love of Hero and Claudio, a love which is threatened by the villainous Don Juan.
A one hour adaption of Arabian Nights. Every day Shahryar, King of Persia, would marry a new virgin, and every day he sends yesterday's wife to be beheaded. He has killed 1,000 such women by the time he is introduced to Scheherazade, whose strange and wonderful stories of One Thousand and One Nights takes him (and us) to enchanted places and are so enthralling that he cannot resist hearing the continuing story the following night. Thus, Scheherazade’ s life hangs on her imagination, memory and wit!
