Thu 14 Jun at 7:00pm with Benedict Cumberbatch as Frankenstein
Sat 16 Jun at 7:00pm with Jonny Lee Miller as Frankenstein
National Theatre Live
Oscar-winner Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire) returned to the theatre to direct this visionary production with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller.
Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein's bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the friendless Creature, increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.
Urgent concerns of scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil are embedded within this thrilling and deeply disturbing classic gothic tale.
A new play by Nick Dear based on the novel by Mary Shelley.

Opera Australia
La Traviata is one of the world's best and most popular operas, composed by the great Giuseppe Verdi. This devastatingly romantic story is told using some of the most recognisable tunes in classical music. When Verdi's magnificent music is combined with the spectacular location, incredible set and beautiful voices of Opera Australia's best, you can be sure that you will be treated to a night out that you won't soon forget.
Sung in Italian with English subtitles. This is a recording from Opera Austalia.
