Stage Electrics and Lighting DesignCOURSE OVERVIEWThe ProgrammeAt the start of this four term course students will learn basic backstage work, including scenery handling and flying, continuing with all aspects of theatre lighting and sound. The training will provide students with all the skills they need to take on the roles of Sound Operator and Designer, Production Electrician and Lighting Operator, Assistant Lighting Designer and Lighting Designer on the Academy’s public productions. Students will work with professional directors, designers and lighting designers. The training will be supplemented by visits, guest lectures and demonstrations. In the final term, students’ project work will be exhibited in the ‘Technical Tree’ giving them the opportunity to talk about their work with an invited group of industry contacts.
