MA IN THEATRE DIRECTING

FEES AND FUNDING

UK/EU FEES

Course fee: £12,000

This course runs for four terms from September 2012 until December 2013.

RADA can, in exceptional circumstances, offer places to students who already hold a higher education qualification and are classified as ‘ELQs’ (equivalent or lower qualifications). We believe that such graduates are an important part of the student body.

In 2011-12 fees for ELQ students are the same as for UK/EU but this is subject to confirmation for 2012/13.

OVERSEAS FEES

Course fee: £22,000 for the complete four term course.

Non-EU international students will be required to pay the full cost of their tuition.

Please note that RADA and the Conservatoire reserve the right to alter the exact amount payable for all their courses prior to enrolment.

Important Information

  • Fees can be paid in instalments per term or in one payment. If you are paying by instalments these are due on the first day of term. Acceptance of a place means students are obliged to pay the fee for every term of the course. Only in exceptional circumstances will withdrawal be permitted before the completion of the final term.
  • If the fees are not paid by the due date, a daily 5% late payment surcharge will be imposed. In the event of continued non payment of the fee, the place on the course will be withdrawn until the fee has been paid in full.
  • Students with outstanding debts to the Academy will not be permitted to graduate from the course.
  • No fees are returnable in the case of a student leaving after the beginning of a term for illness or any other reason.
  • All students receiving Student Maintenance Loans must make adequate provision to cover their living costs until the Student Loan clears their account e.g. three to four days following registration.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

STUDENT LOANS

Home and EU students new to higher education can apply to the Student Loan Company for a loan to cover their fees and be assessed for a maintenance grant depending on their personal or family income. Students who already have a degree are not eligible for maintenance loans and will need to seek funding from other sources to pay their fees and for living expenses.

CONSERVATOIRE FOR DANCE AND DRAMA BURSARIES

UK students who are assessed as eligible for a maintenance grant following assessment by the SLC should also be eligible for a Conservatoire bursary.

RADA SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES

The Academy runs an ongoing fundraising campaign to enable students in genuine financial need to be offered scholarship/ bursary support through the Academy. This is only offered to students in need, on the full time accredited HE courses, following an internal financial assessment undertaken by RADA.

We are grateful for the support received from trusts, foundations and philanthropic individuals whose donations support the Academy in maintaining its broad selection process.

For further information regarding Student Loans, grants and Conservatoire bursaries for HE courses, please see the Conservatiore for Dance and Drama's financial support page. Postgrad.com also has useful information on postgraduate bursaries.
