BA (Hons) in Acting

FEES AND FUNDING

Fees are set by the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (CDD). Information about the fees for UK/EU students and the financial support available through the Conservatoire’s Scholarship Scheme and through Government grants and loans can be found on the Conservatoire’s website:

This information can also be downloaded in PDF format, in the CDD’s booklet Fees and Financial Assistance 2012/13.

UK FEES

UK/EU fees are £9,000 per year

RADA can, in exceptional circumstances, offer places to students who already hold a higher education qualification and are classified as ‘ELQs’ (equivalent or lower qualifications).

We believe that such graduates are an important part of the student body.

In 2010-11 fees for ELQ students are the same as for UK/EU but this is subject to confirmation for 2011-12.

OVERSEAS FEES

Non-EU international students will be required to pay the full cost of their tuition. Fees for 2012 have yet to be agreed but will not be less than £16,200

Please note that RADA and the Conservatoire reserve the right to alter the exact amount payable for all their courses prior to enrolment.

ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATIONS FOR TUITION FEE DISCOUNTS

Applicants need to indicate on the application form to RADA if they wish to be considered for a fee discount from the Conservatoire. In order to qualify you must have applied for income assessed
loans from Student Finance England as early as possible and make a separate application to the Conservatoire. This will allow the Conservatoire to assess what level of discount you may be entitled to.

Please note that as this is a new system, you may also be means tested through the Conservatoire. Please refer to the CDD website for further guidance on eligibility.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

STUDENT LOANS

Home and EU students new to higher education can apply to Student Finance England / Wales, NI, or Student Awards Agency Scotland for a loan to cover their fees and be assessed for a maintenance grant depending on their personal or family income. Students who already have a degree are not eligible for maintenance loans and will need funding from other sources to pay for their living expenses. Graduates may be eligible to apply for a Career Development Loan which is available to all UK/EU students except those on the RADA Foundation course. For more alternative sources of funding visit the CDD website.

CONSERVATOIRE FOR DANCE AND DRAMA BURSARIES

UK students who are eligible for an income assessed government maintenance grant through Student Finance England may also be eligible for a Conservatoire bursary. Please refer to the CDD website for further details of eligibility.

RADA SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES

The Academy runs an ongoing fundraising campaign to enable scholarships and bursary awards to students in genuine financial need. Scholarship/bursary funding through the Academy is only available to students on the full time, accredited, HE funded courses and is awarded following an internal financial assessment undertaken by RADA.

For further information regarding Student Loans, grants and Conservatoire bursaries for HE courses, please see the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama's financial support page.

Important Information

  • Fees can be paid in instalments per term or in one payment. If you are paying by instalments these are due on the first day of term. Acceptance of a place means students are obliged to pay the fee for every term of the course. Only in exceptional circumstances will withdrawal be permitted before the completion of the final term.
  • If the fees are not paid by the due date, a daily 5% late payment surcharge will be imposed. In the event of continued non payment of the fee, the place on the course will be withdrawn until the fee has been paid in full.
  • Students with outstanding debts to the Academy will not be permitted to graduate from the course.
  • No fees are returnable in the case of a student leaving after the beginning of a term for illness or any other reason.
  • All students receiving Student Maintenance Loans must make adequate provision to cover their living costs until the Student Loan clears their account e.g. three to four days following registration.
